Perché è così dannatamente difficile fare un auto-ritratto? - Why is it so darn hard to draw a self-
Negli ultimi mesi mi sono esercitata parecchio nel disegnare ritratti. Ne ho fatto un paio come progetti richiesti da clienti, un paio come regali ai familiari e l'ultimo come puro esercizio di me stessa.
Non è per niente facile riuscire a riportare una somilianza perfetta e diventa tanto più difficile quanto più conosco la persona che sto disegnando. Questo, credo, dipende anche dal fatto che conoscendo bene la persona e i suoi tratti divento anche più critica dell'assomilianza.
Lascio a voi il giudizio di come sono riuscita nel mio auto-ritratto.

In the last few months I have been exercising in drawing portraits. A few were projects commissioned by clients, a few were gifts to family members and the last one I did as pure exercise of myself.
It is certainly not easy to draw a look-alike-one and the funny thing is, the better you know the person, the harder it is to "get it right". I suppose this is because knowing the facial traits very well one is also more critical of the outcome.
I'll leave it to you to judge how my self-portrait turned out.
