The magic of flying on ice

When I was young and lived in Finland, January was a month of ice-skating. Pretty much every year Santa Claus brought me new skates (as the ones from the year before would not fit anymore and I was the eldest of the family - my skates were then passed on to my sister whose skates were passed to my youngest sister). And starting on December 25th we would be skating every day, snow or shine. Those days we ALWAYS had snow for Christmas and obviously ice rinks as well. On Fridays the city organized bigger events such as couple skates and there was music and hot drinks as well. We would skate until we could no longer feel our fingers and toes.

Last year Santa brought my boys skates as well and on Thursday I am planning to take them skating. Can't wait to fly on ice again!
