Sposa cadavere revisited
#illustrations #sposacadavedere #timburton #corpsebride

Racconta#MeToo
One of the strongest and most thought- and reaction-provoking social media campaigns in 2017 was #MeToo. Thousands of women around the world joined the movement and boldly told about their personal experiences of sexual harrassment. Many of them had been forced by men to do certain types of services in order to advance in the career or, worse yet, to stay in the position they were holding. Thanks to the numerous revelations by these women, many of the men in question were fin

Give thanks every day
My former colleague and (current) friend Jamie Lynch always said that Thanksgiving was his favorite holiday of all. "You eat well, you spend time together with family and friends, and there is no stress about giving gifts", he put it shortly yet so clearly. I celebrated several Thanksgiving dinners with Jamie and our colleagues at The American University of Rome and remember all of them - as I do the one Thanksgiving weekend I spent with my American family in Federal Way, WA

People worth melting for
This Monday morning my heart just explodes with gratitude for all the wonderful people I have in my life. My family, relatives, colleagues and friends. People I know all over the world and have met through studies, work, traveling and other occasions. I spent some real quality time this weekend with family and friends and truly appreciate the importance of having a solid network of people with whom to make memories, laugh, cry, rejoice and even plow through tougher times. I a

Lemonade
Since 18 years in Italy, August has become the month of lemonade and citrus fruits for me. Most years it is almost unbearably hot and a glass of cool lemonade in the shade of a tree or aside a swimming pool is all you desire. My husband's family lives near the Amalfi Coast that is famous for its lemons and products - drinks, soaps, candies etc. - that originate from this fresh and bright citrus fruit. My mother-in-law makes limoncello, a strong alcoholic digestive with lemons

Love affair with the woods
It is almost time to fly home to Finland for our traditional one-month summer vacation at the summer cottage in Lemi (Eastern Finland in the lake area). It is one of my favorite times of the year, although I do love all the seasons and our little home in Italy. But I cannot help crave for the peace and serenity I feel while wandering in the Finnish forests. Since I was little, I would go berry and mushroom picking with my family, my grandmother, aunts, cousins and my parents

Today's inspiration
I was getting inspired by the fabulous world of illustrations by Ed Emberley and started drawing simple animal figure using triangles, circles and other forms. And when I drew these two mice, the song by Pino Daniele came to my mind. I know these are not "scarrafone", but I think it applies well to the scene I drew. Happy Thursday, everyone! #EdEmberleyillustrations #hannasuni #illustrations

Give me... water to swim in!
Summer has never been one of my favorite seasons, I love spring and fall for the drastic change they bring about in nature and I don't mind cold winters either, curled up by the fireplace to read a good book. What I do love about summer, though, is being able to swim in the lake. Lake, mind you, and not the ocean, since having been brought up by lakes I am used to the light, silky and waveless waters where you can actually swim around an island and get some exercise. The sea
